Germany has reacted strongly to Chile wanting to cooperate with the Turkish Defense Industry company ASELSAN to modernize the Leopard 2 tanks in its inventory. Germany, which blocked the agreement for the sale of Eurofighter fighter jets to Turkey and the sale of electronic equipment to be used by Siemens at the Akkuyu Nuclear Power Plant, announced that it will not sell new Leopard 2 tanks to Chile if it cooperates with Turkey on modernization.
