Probably this will be our city bikes. What do you think about this kind of progress towards accessibility? Of course seems good and will be used, but is it safe to ride in our roads and how drivers will adapt to this rapid changes?

  1. Better late than never 👍

P.S. Considering the name “Apar”, I hope they won’t use our current Eurovision song chorus for the advertising clip

As a regular cyclist/semi-pro in Azerbaijan, our roads are nowhere ready. Drivers can not follow their own lanes let alone respect bicycles. It will take a lot of time for our people to respect bicycles but I have hope that one day we will.

This is a step in the right direction.

  3. Doesn’t seem to be city bikes but bikes that belong to Turkish style “Getir” company. I guess it will belong to drivers who will deliver market goods directly to homes via apps like Bolt, in this case Apar.

  4. Let’s hope it doesn’t turn into “Apar tulla” in a few years. I mean we still have kids throwing stones at speed trains for shits and giggles.
So I’m more concerned about the safety of BIKES than riders 🤣

  5. I disagree with the question. No city will ever be ready. Basically all cities where Bolt scooters were introduced, for instance, were not ready for it. They had to adjust.

  6. I think the word “apar” from aparmak/q isn’t used in Turkish so much anymore (or at least not in my region and family), except for in the expression “apar topar”. Is aparmaq a common verb to use in Azerbaijani?
