Zelenskyy set to pressure Russia with new peace plan Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that he hopes to present a plan to allies that could push Russia to end the war.

Zelenskyy referred to the plan on Wednesday during a press conference for an international conference in Kyiv on Crimea, which Russia unilaterally annexed.

He said the plan “will have both a psychological and political influence – and in terms of weapons – on Russia’s decision to end this war.”

Zelenskyy also said the plan has to be presented before a second peace summit he wants to hold later this year. He went on to say, “If partners support it, it will make it easier for Ukraine to force Russia to end the war.”

Zelenskyy wants to hold a meeting with world leaders as early as in November before the peace summit.

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken and British Foreign Secretary David Lammy were among the participants of the international conference on Crimea.

During the conference, Zelenskyy expressed resolve to regain control of Russian-occupied territory. He said, “Ukraine does not trade its land and does not abandon its people.”
