14 years doesn’t feel enough for this level of brutality. He’s essentially killed who that little girl was, and should be sentenced accordingly, life- preferably without parole.

Because if you can beat a two year old to near death you are irredeemable broken and should never be free to hurt someone again.

What is the relevance of being a footballer and is someone who played 2 games of professional football 15 years ago really an “ex-footballer”.

  3. > The court heard Hughes-Mason had sent messages to friends stating the girl had been “getting on my nerves” and he was “gonna hit her” prior to the attack on 31 January 2020.

    > Doctors identified 17 injuries on her legs, back, face and chest that could have occurred between October 2019 and the day of the incident, the trial was told.

    > She remained in a coma for two weeks and suffered life-changing brain injuries that meant she would require 24-hour care.

    > Hughes-Mason had tried to claim to paramedics the girl had injured herself by falling on a doll’s house.

17 injuries, a 2 week coma, and life changing brain damage. To a 2 year old child.

It’s just absolutely unfathomable. This isn’t an old-school parent spanking their child, this is vile, disgusting abuse. I can’t even imagine how a human being could strike a child, let alone to strike them (presumably at least) 17 times.

And he gets 14 years, of which he’ll likely only serve 7. While this innocent child has their life forever altered. This is a guy beyond humanity.

  4. There is no legal process in the world that can help with the amount of anger i’m feeling right now, and i’m not even related to the kid

  5. Remember that the UK used to have capital punishment but bleeding hearts got the punishment reformed to a lengthy jail term, then let out early for good behaviour. Quite a few of us would like the death sentence restored

  6. Unqualified to comment hmm I am interested in reading the list of appropriate skills required. As for the USA it has always been a home for the terminally mad applying your analogy is stupidity itself

Put a 2 year old child a coma for 2 weeks with life-changing brain damage meaning she can never live independently and will require ongoing care forever, and he only gets 14 years in prison?
