It’d be cheap to do too, because we have the model for a perfect statue from Lower Decks!

No way. Dublin needs the Colm Meaney statue. In wherever Barrytown is meant to be. In a van, shouting at children, and serving battered and fried nappies.
Why not? I’m a Trek Nerd so far more predisposed to the idea I guess, but all reads like a bit of fun.
And I love how Meaney’s canniness meant he knew he could sneak a distinctly Irish curse past the censors of a 1990s show, without them realising it even was one.

Bit early, no? The man will not be born for another 304 years…..

I haven’t been to Killarney in years but I would absolutely go to see a statue of Chief O’Brien.
This is a joke project that a couple of lads in Killarney started but it’s taken on a life of its own and started making headlines.
This is the point where Kerry hoorism jumped the shark. Now they’d steal anything for a tourist dollar
The actor is from Dublin FFS. Killarney is mentioned in what, one line on one show he worked on?
It’s not the first time something like this has been suggested. There was one for Dublin a few years ago that got over 2000 signatures.
