This man walking in the opposite direction of me on the sidewalk near paradise mall in Sofia grabbed my breast and kept walking. This happened 9:20pm September 9th.

This was my first ever time walking without my husband in Bulgaria.

  1. Sorry for your experience. This usually doesn’t happen, at least as far as I’m aware, but then again, I’m a boy. I would advise you to go straight to the police and tell them about it. Idk if they’ll do anything since there is no evidence, but I’d still report if I were you.

  2. This is an extremely rare thing to happen in Bulgaria.
So sorry to hear that this happened to you!!!
File a police report in the morning, provide them with the video, and they will also scoop the area for other CCTV.
If this happened to a person close of mine I would first try to deal with this in “our way”, but this does not take away the trauma of unknown person touching you.
Do you live here? Do you need any assistance?

  3. They can probably tell that you are a foreigner which leads them to think that they can get away with it.
Ive never been harassed to this extent, only catcalling but thats my personal expirience.
I would suggest not going out alone after dark. Its pretty dangerous for anyone, not just women. Especially in more secluded parts of a city:))

  4. I am so sorry this happened to you.I hope karma gets him.And in Plovdiv sexual assult ain’t that common fortunetlly.

  5. Surprisingly, it’s not as common as it is in the modern day West. Yet there are bad apples everywhere these days, just make sure you stay in well lit areas which are known to you.

  6. Well, you should file a police complaint abandoned and take it with pride. this is extremely rare to happen in Bulgaria , however, if anything more serious happens , juat scream for help, whip out a bag of chips, and watch the locals kick his teeth out… 😎
