Paris Paralympics draws to close The Paris 2024 Paralympic Games have concluded, marking the handoff to Los Angeles, which will host the next Summer Games in four years.

The closing ceremony of the 12-day Games was held on Sunday at the athletics venue of Stade de France, just outside Paris.

Organizing committee president Tony Estanguet said, “Everyone can see what an inclusive world is like,” adding “Now there is no turning back.”

The 45,000 volunteers who assisted the Paris Olympics and Paralympics were praised with big applause.

Paris Mayor Anne Hidalgo passed the Paralympic flag to Karen Bass, the mayor of Los Angeles, the host city of the 2028 Games.

The Los Angeles Paralympics will feature para climbing as a new sport in addition to the 22 sports contested in Paris.
