  1. Only problem is that a lot of the providers will up their prices by the amount of the tax relief as often happens in this country. Not against tax reliefs at all just hope the Government do something to prevent the providers from pocketing it.

Would be easier to just increase child benefit by a tenner a month. Or give a second double payment in Sept as well as Dec.

  3. I smell an election coming. Was told by a sitting councillor to expect it before Christmas as well

  4. I actually like this idea.

Making sporting, cultural and social activities easier to access can have health and social benefits for children. This could help combat growing obesity and the weird social hangover caused by Covid.

Obviously, the devil is in the detail. Would this be means tested?

In principle though, I like this.

More and more tax cuts and credits, only to be gobbled up by price rises. We need service and infrastructure investment, and tax cuts undermine both.

  6. Just increase the children’s allowance instead of creating another layer of admin. This is definitely a nod to people who pay tax and spend a lot on horse riding for little Phoebe. Not much use to low income families who want to send their kids to the local drama club.

  7. How about a bit of investment in sports facilities. Our football club pay €240 a week for 4 hours access to a third of an Astro pitch, for the kids to train. Sports facilities should be heavily discounted for youth sports

  8. I’m so sick of this crowd consistently providing band aid solutions for issues that require surgery, so to say.

All they’re going to do is inflate prices of things further, but not before they squander the hinge tax takes they get from everyone who works here.

  9. “Squeezed middle”. That term really pisses me off, since it’s these clowns doing the squeezing. The poor don’t have anything left after being gouged through the nose for everything and the rich simply refuse to pay. See the problem here.

  10. You see, of the country was run correctly for the benefit of it’s citizens, then the government wouldn’t have to be thinking about the likes of this shite. Same with electricity bills, same with childcare, same with housing. All need government intervention because the “Free Market” is a god that must be appeased.

Jack Chamber’s looking for votes I see. I wrote to him recently on a matter and the reply I got back was completely useless and annoying so he can fuck off. He come off like Leo but even more useless..good chance he’ll be running the place soon so.

Just once a year (December please) give me my gross Salary and I’d be happy as Larry.

Loads of negativity here but this is positive!

We need to stop bringing child car, child minding and child’s sports is “Value Add” and deserves Value Added Tax.

Child care should be a tax right off. Too many people forced to leave work because the taxes take the choice away from them.
