Zelenskyy replaces foreign minister in Ukraine Cabinet reshuffle Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has replaced the foreign minister as part of a Cabinet reshuffle. He apparently hopes to improve Ukraine’s ability to deal with military and diplomatic issues.

Ukrainian media reported on Thursday that the country’s parliament appointed new Cabinet members, including minister for strategic industries and minister for culture and information policy.

Former First Deputy Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha has replaced Dmytro Kuleba as the foreign minister.

Sybiha had been named first deputy minister of foreign affairs earlier this year, after serving as ambassador to Turkey and deputy head of the presidential office.

Zelenskyy said, “It is crucial that government institutions now operate as actively as possible.” He called for more investment from “partners in Ukraine’s defense production” and more support for the frontline fighting against Russian forces.

He added, “There are dozens of such very specific tasks, and throughout the fall, everyone in their position must deliver tangible results.”

Zelenskyy aims to hold a peace summit in November, when the United States, Ukraine’s biggest military supporter, will hold a presidential election.
