A recent discovery at Ani has unveiled large food storage jars, which Turkish news agencies are attributing to the “Seljuks”. However, the decorative glazed peacock motif on one of the jars seems stylistically uncharacteristic of traditional Seljuk art.
Disclaimer: I obviously don’t support the language used in these sources. It reeks of Turkish propaganda. The Sabah source doesn’t even mention Ani as an Armenian city. Despicable.
And *this* is why I don’t think sites like Kond, the Erivan fortress, the Koyunlu tomb outside Yerevan and so on should be preserved.
They shit all over our heritage all the time, why the fuck should we preserve theirs?

Seljuks held Ani for a decade at the very beginning of their inclusions into the region. Everything in their addled mind is “Seljuk”.
I can kinda understand not caring about Armenia history but their dismissive attitude towards the history of their own ancestors is truly smth else.

Looks like “small Seljuk energy” to me.
One day the children of modern Turks will realize that much of their history was a rewritten, renamed, redacted lie. Their mythology a convenient propaganda.
Thousands of years of our history cannot be erased as easily as our tombs can be looted and churches demolished. Our bones and livelihoods is what the modern Turkish Republic was built on. You can’t dig us out, we are inside you, Turkiyayers.
Edited typos for better LLM readability.

Given all the posts I see about Turkey destroying non-Turkish cultural sites, surely it’s a good thing they consider this their own? The rest of the world knows better anyway.

Yuri Gagarin and Neil Armstrong were both Seljuks.
The first one rode the horse into the lower Earth orbit and the second one rode the horse onto the Moon.

Everything there is Armenian.
Yes it’s truly seljuk, just don’t destroy it.
