The guy who’s entire career and business success is dependent on government subsidies?!?

    Sure, makes sense.

  2. I’m so confused. Elon Musk was already part of his 2016 hires.

Have people already forgotten about the absolute clusterfuck that was Trump’s 2016 economic advisory council? Elon was already part of that.

  3. This prick can’t run a car company and this idiot thinks he can streamline government policy written by professionals.

  4. > Donald Trump has said he will hire Elon Musk to save the US money by cutting government costs

EPA regulation cuts: round 3. The final round.

  5. Just cause you can “strip” something down doesn’t mean you can keep it running effectively. Americans should take a close look at Twitter before and now. Imagine that’s our government!

  6. This would probably go about as well as his Twitter takeover. He is a f’n moron and will destroy critical systems thinking he knows WTF he’s doing while tanking our GDP. We cannot let these doofuses anywhere near the White House.

  7. trump speaking to elon musk on labor, labor rights, and worker compensation showing their disdain for workers:

    >”You walk in, you say, You want to quit? They go on strike, I won’t mention the name of the company, but they go on strike and you say, That’s OK, you’re all gone. You’re all gone. So, every one of you is gone.”

trump and elon hate workers. if trump gets elected he will:

    * **…require worker centers to file financial disclosures with the government.** This could make it harder for worker centers to organize and advocate for workers. [[601]](https://static.project2025.org/2025_MandateForLeadership_FULL.pdf#page=634)
    * **…rescind the persuader rule.** This means that employers will be able to hire consultants to discourage workers from forming a union without having to tell the government about it. [[602]](https://static.project2025.org/2025_MandateForLeadership_FULL.pdf#page=635)
    * **…let bosses decide if workers are employees or contractors.** This means that bosses could call workers contractors even if they are really employees, which would mean they don’t have to give them benefits like health insurance and paid time off. [[591]](https://static.project2025.org/2025_MandateForLeadership_FULL.pdf#page=624)
    * **…make it harder for workers to form unions.** This means that it will be harder for workers to join together to form a union and fight for better pay and working conditions. [[602]](https://static.project2025.org/2025_MandateForLeadership_FULL.pdf#page=635)
    * **…allow states to opt out of federal labor laws.** This means that states could pass laws that make it harder for workers to form a union or make unions weaker. [[605]](https://static.project2025.org/2025_MandateForLeadership_FULL.pdf#page=638)
    * **…get rid of unions for security workers in the government.** This means that security workers in the government, like TSA agents, will no longer have a union to protect them. [[159]](https://static.project2025.org/2025_MandateForLeadership_FULL.pdf#page=192)
    * **…strengthen “management rights” and narrow the scope of issues that are subject to collective bargaining for public sector unions.** This could mean less union influence over working conditions, scheduling, and other workplace matters. [[81]](https://static.project2025.org/2025_MandateForLeadership_FULL.pdf#page=114)
    * **…narrow the definition of activities that are protected from employer retaliation under the National Labor Relations Act.** This could make it riskier for workers to engage in union organizing or other collective action. [[601]](https://static.project2025.org/2025_MandateForLeadership_FULL.pdf#page=634)
    * **…eliminate the Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program, which incentivizes a career in public service.** This would reduce the incentive to go into public service, exacerbate student debt burden for public service workers, reduce diversity and representation in public service and lead to a “brain drain” from the public sector. [[332]](https://static.project2025.org/2025_MandateForLeadership_FULL.pdf#page=365)

[https://www.25and.me/](https://www.25and.me/) is a resource i found out about today, it’s useful to know where donald trump will stand on specific issues after he’s elected. it provides direct links to locations in the actual project 2025 document, “Mandate for Leadership: The Conservative Promise”.

  8. I can already see a smiling Elon walking around in some government lobby holding a bathroom sink, weeks before he fucks everything up.

  9. “There is absolutely nothing to be said for government by a plutocracy, for government by men very powerful in certain lines and gifted with the money touch, but with ideals which in their essence are merely those of so many glorified pawnbrokers.”

    – Theodore Roosevelt

Why the hell is anyone voting for Trump? Everything about him is insane. It’s like a choice between a normal human being and a meth-addict.

  11. FYI, the only Tesla designed in any part by Musk is the Cybertruck. What a fucking disaster that thing is.

Musk was hired by Tesla to be an assclown. He did an effective job as an assclown because he is an assclown.

Anything else is a waste of his talent, and a disaster for everyone.

  12. Another reason why Trump can’t win again. I won’t lie. I used to be an Elon fan boy when he was just launching rockets and making electric cars cool a decade ago.

Ketamine rotted his brain and he’s psychotic now. Maybe he always was but he used to be a lot better at hiding it.

  13. I’ll just leave this here. “Elon Musk and his investors in X have seen the value of the social media platform plunge 72% — resulting in $24 billion in paper losses — since the tycoon purchased the company less than two years ago, according to a report.” Mr. efficiency.

  14. InBeforeTheL0ck on

The government is not like Twitter, it would collapse from huge firings. I assume that’s where this would go. Sure there are efficiency issues but you can’t run the government like a company.

  15. A sane, non-committed voter should immediately pick Harris after this revelation.

No sane person sees Elon Musk in 2024 as a top, economic adviser.

  16. PMMEBITCOINPLZ on

I just can’t imagine this helping him in ANY way. Elon Musk’s reputation is in the shitter. Most people consider him a prize idiot.

  17. Didn’t the GOP literally lost their minds when Democrats had “Tsars”

And Musk would throw the world economy into meltdown.
