It’s been funny watching everyone lose their mind, especially fans of the band, lose their absolute minds at Ticketmaster for the *dynamic pricing*.
…when it is the band – in this case Oasis – who elect for the option of dynamic pricing.

  2. >The investigation will examine whether:

    >* Ticketmaster engaged in unfair commercial practices

    >* Buyers were given clear information to explain that the tickets could be subject to price rices

    >* People were put under pressure to buy tickets within a short period of time

The answer to the last 2 is that it was absolutely not clear that the prices announced, reported, and advertised would not be the prices being charged, and that you absolutely had a time limit to decide if you should go ahead with your purchase or not.

Regardless of if you think dynamic pricing is acceptable, if it’s happened for other artists, if it was Ticketmaster’s fault or Oasis’ fault, it’s *very* ‘bait-and-switch-y’ to not be able to see the current prices without having waited in the queue and be at the checkout.

E.g. to have to wait in a queue for up to 9 hours where at best, you don’t know what the price you will be asked to pay is, and at worst don’t realise that the prices that were announced and advertised are not the *actual* prices.

  3. it’s mad that we give these dogs so much power over us humans, we should be able to do what we want without fear of the dogs taking control

This shit has been going on for far too long with no political will to fix it. I remember a documentary about it on channel 4 around 2009 exposing abhorrent business practices and nothing was done about. Dynamic pricing is just the new flavour. Gig tickets need to be regulated so live music lovers can stop being shafted.

  5. It’s not unique to Oasis, this happens with all sorts of things from concerts to sporting events.

Not football though, because there are laws prohibiting resale of football tickets,. Why the government at the time opted to limit that legislation to only football rather than all live events is beyond me, but we really do need to extend it to everything, or at the very least ban resale above the face value of the ticket.

  6. Imagine bitching about this, being unhappy and then still buying this shit. Some people love bing treated like cattle

Good luck starting the probe. You’re going to be sat in a queue for 8+ hours to then get kicked out.
