This really shows the contempt that the religious orders have for ordinary people. They need to be banished from public life in every way and prosecuted to the hilt.

The more I read about this, the sicker I feel. Every single person that was involved in this deserves to be punished. We should have absolutely zero tolerance towards anyone who hurts children or vulnerable adults in any capacity, and more severe penalties for anyone who is aware of the abuse and enables it. I luckily haven’t been in the position of being aware of something this heinous happening, but if I was, I just can’t see how I could turn a blind eye and do nothing.

So many childhoods destroyed. My heart goes out to the survivors and the loved ones supporting them.

I can’t even read things like this , absolutely horrific. Those poor children. What the church has gotten away with in this country is shameful. It’s so sickening. I was brought up religiously and went to mass every Sunday for years but I absolutely will not be having my child baptised and signed up to an organisation that caused so much harm to women and children.

Cannot wait for the coolock lads to start their riots to “Protect our kids” /s
