Two Leroy Merlin security guards accused of creating a “parallel market” of stolen goods, there are 20 suspects – all employees and security guards – and they have caused damages worth millions

Those who were supposed to be guards, were thieves, a curious story, with incredible figures that seems to have come out of a movie:

Zero tolerance and no indulgence towards thieves. They were supposed to guarantee security at the Leroy Merlin store. Instead, they used their working hours to steal goods of all kinds from the warehouse: air conditioners, lawnmowers, but also water heaters and drills stolen and resold below cost. The scam worth one million euros at the Leroy Merlin store in Fiumicino was managed by two security guards who worked for the company Hsh security service. For this reason, the carabinieri of the airport company have executed precautionary measures against the two, Gluharov Dimitar Lukov, a 27-year-old Bulgarian, and Simone Carmosino, 28. The first has been placed under house arrest, while the second has been banned from residing in the municipality of Fiumicino. Investigations are continuing against the other 20 employees and security guards.

“If you need it, I’ll get it for you at a discount.” Thanks to word of mouth, they had built a parallel market, stealing goods worth one million euros from the Leroy Merlin store in the Parco da Vinci shopping center in Fiumicino, where they were employed. The thefts, over a hundred episodes contested, were allegedly committed between January 2022 and August 2023
