He will look so visibly weird on that stage next to Kamala in a way that Hilary and Joe, for all their qualities, didn’t highlight.
She’s just quite normal in a good way, his weird pouting and posturing and rambling will look a lot weirder without Joe’s stumbling and Hilary’s inauthentic-seeming polish alongside him (all love to them both but there’s no denying they turn some people off).
I hope the optics alone will sway some independents.

I think this is a good strategy. By saying this, she might goad him into getting rid of the muted mics. But if she doesn’t, he thinks he would have the upper hand, and underestimate her, which if she debates well, would bit him in the ass.

With muted mics he can’t interrupt her to appeal to the misogynists and she can’t put him on the defensive if he is wasting his time trying to rebuttal her talking points. He has no actual policy besides the one he is trying to distance himself from so it will take away from his “weaving”. This will also show that she is able to stand her ground with a toxic male which will help her.
With unmuted mics she can bait him into looking worst then Biden did which will basically be the nail in his coffin. Remember Biden baited him into that proud boys statement and l feel like that was huge in Biden winning. Right now Trump is his own worse enemy and his camp is going to self destruct and start going at each others throats soon because they are just toxic assholes who only care about themselves. She also knows all of Trumps talking points about border,economy and inflation and probably will be able to fact check him in real time which would absolutely paralyze him.

The orange turd will bring out his old tired playbook of hate and lies and she will have a small tiny little window to “attempt” to correct the lies…..same old same old…..it’s not a debate if one person just lies the entire time.

So early in the debate Kamala needs to stop, look over at Trump, and with real concern ask, “Are there medical people available to look at him (trump). I think he’s having a stroke. I hope he’s going to be all right”.
Trump will go ballistic. And of course the debate will be stopped and the medical team will check him out.

She kinda got obliterated in her last debate in 2020 because she got interrupted and walked over by Gabbard. So she likely doesn’t mind muted mics
Now if she does poorly, she’s already set the stage to blame the mics and make it look like Trumps afraid of her.
On the flipside, if she does well, she can claim she’d have done even better if Trump hadn’t demanded the mics be muted.
And, even by suggesting she might not have the best night due to rules, she’s lowering everyone’s expectations for her.
All of this comes after seemingly sucessesfully painting the muted mics as a Trump Campaign idea that Trump didn’t want (despite it being a Biden request IIRC) and Trump as a coward for originally ducking the debate.
So it seems she’s in the drivers seat on the narrative heading into the debate.

Her husband Doug was on Pod Saves America yesterday and one point he made was she is very good at laying traps in arguments (like good lawyers do) to arrive at the gotcha. Doug said she does it ro him when they’re discussing things she really wants. I think Kamala is going to lead Trump as much as his drug addled brain can handle
