My grandmother has an official polish birth certificate stating that she was born in (what back then was) "Grabocin, Poland" in 1944. After doing some research it turns out that area was occupied by germany back then in WW2, although I’m not sure in what time period specifically. Here’s a section of the birth certificate.

Regardless of what was the status of that region back then, the birth certificate crearly states country of birth as "Poland"so to me at least it seems like that should be enough (?). Also I know that mothers passing down citizenship status to their children is a relatively new thing, so I’m not sure what the situation is like for her.

Given all of that:

  1. Could she be eligible for Polish citizenship?
  2. Could she pass down citizenship status to their children given she’s a woman?

Grandma born in "Grabocin" 1944, eligible for citizenship? What about passing it down?
