Can we just declare such laws illegal on a national level? It’s ridiculous, there are some old laws still being followed in some places that are more appropriate for some middle age medieval plague towns than anywhere in 2024.

Feels like Trump can be accused of sexual assault and it won’t really matter at this point.

    Oh wait…

  3. I wouldn’t say that the choice was *deliberate* so much as there is a very strong correlation between a sundown town and being a Trump stronghold, where he feels comfortable holding rallies.

It also helps he owes many US cities still from his 2016 and 2020 campaign stops.

Seems the “racist cities” (Republican controlled) on the other hand have no issues misappropriating taxpayers funds to pay for Trump.

Maybe if he wasn’t such a deadbeat…this wouldn’t be the case.

This is the least shocking trump factoid of the day, of course the king in orange goes to his people, why wouldn’t he?

  6. He goes where he will draw the biggest and most receptive crowds …he’d hold a rally in an outhouse if there were going to be campaign donors chanting his name.

A lot of people believe that sundown towns don’t exist and never have, and I’m gonna tell you that that’s a fuckin lie.

We were driving through Arkansas on our way to Florida a few years back for hurricane restoration, and we drove through this one town and we were gonna fuel up our buckets but there was a giant sign reminding people to attend the next local Klan meeting and some other very not nice and horrifying signs.

I was one of the few white people on the 2 crews that were convoying and I was like fuck this place and we immediately noped the fuck outta there and kept driving to the next fuel station in another town.

Guarantee there woulda been trouble if we had stopped.

People who don’t believe that sundown towns don’t exist or think those deeply racists places don’t exist would have their fuckin minds blown having to actually go to one.

It’s very creepy and scary, and these are the types of places and people he is choosing to tether himself and the Republican Party to.

  8. “Accused”

Can he really be accused of it when he’s clearly fucking doing it? Fucking mealy mouthed media.

Trump is sundowning himself, so no surprise there. Dude goes to rallies and screeches about sharks, boat batteries, slurs, makes up words, literally babbles incoherently, and won’t shut up about how it takes him 10-20 tries to flush a toilet because he shovels big macs and KFC down his cakehole all day.

  10. I suspect the better places are still upset about never getting paid the money they are owed by his campaign or are aware of Trump’s reputation of never paying his bills.

The GOP is on a KKK crusade while the media whitewashes everything for them. *pun intended*

  12. He is choosing sundown towns because he owes money in larger city venues and can’t pay his debts. That is the truth in the end and then adding his base is mostly rural, that is why they are in those areas. Keeping that scared white base scared and not paying his debts.

  13. He has no idea what he’s doing, he’s literally too lazy and stupid to do this on purpose lmao

It’s probably someone on his campaign team though

I doubt that Trump is choosing these towns. He doesn’t have the intellectual curiosity to have the slightest interest in these towns and why they are so full of his supporters.

I would not be surprised if Stephen Miller was choosing them, though.

I am as positive he doesn’t choose where he speaks as I am that his campaign deliberately chooses to speak in sundown towns.

  16. He’s choosing towns where he has a majority of MAGA supporters. Shocker! Those turn out to be sundown towns with a history of racism! Who[d nave guessed such a thing would happen.

  17. His strategy is always to steal headlines with dog whistles that are difficult to prove. Yes he’s doing it but you can’t prove it.

  18. Trump should know by now his re election campaign is in dire need of new blood. You can contest the election if you only have a couple of swing states and a path to 270. If you have to contest 6+ state results and that *still* doesnt get you to 250, then your scotus backup plan doesnt work. Hes lost a ton of former supporters and a lot of the people that were weary of him last couple of election cycles are supporting harris.

So him choosing ‘select’ locations for smaller and smaller rallies means his ability to get new voters is waning. He doesnt need the support of racist america; hes had them since 2015. It all just means his campaign is already in the slow death spiral.

  19. Accused? He IS choosing sundown towns. Win win win: 1) he doesn’t owe them money for past rallies 2) the locals are in the cult 3) the towns are so small and backwards that they live the tourism.

  20. Rallies where he has the most support projects strength when covered by the media. He doesn’t care about the rallies themselves. He just wants the media coverage and to be able to brag about crowd sizes.

  21. This isn’t new.  Look up where REAGAN! Announced his general campaign for President in 1980…

     Philadelphia, Mississippi…

In a speech lauding states rights.  Why Philadelphia, Mississippi…

Cause he was dogwhistling Dixie, of course!!
