  1. If Trump wants to increase his approval rating, maybe he should try dropping out of the race for the good of the country.

  2. Inflation is down, gas prices are dropping, a rate cut is expected in the fall….

    It’s all coming together.

  3. His least popular decision was applying for a stressful 4 year position at the age of 81. He was otherwise a pretty good President.

How much you guys wanna bet that Trump is going to obsess about this for the next few days?

Turns out when the Republicans stop shamelessly attacking him, people see him closer to what he is, a great guy and very good president

I think people just like “thank you Joe” more than they like Weekend at Biden’s.

It’s obvious that since he actually takes being president seriously, he struggles to do that and campaign at the same time. He seems much happier now.

  7. This is gonna drive Trump crazy. Since Harris started trouncing him in the polls, he has clung to the idea that he was beating Biden and that he was robbed of a guaranteed win when Biden stepped aside. To be losing to Harris *and* Biden in approval is definitely going to get under his skin.

  8. It’s almost like his low numbers were almost entirely the result of the media constantly pushing stories about his age and incompetence and declining mental health.

  9. The reason is the republican lie machine has changed focus so people don’t get the constant misinformation.

  10. I don’t know, I still think he would’ve won, probably not by much, but I think he would’ve won.

His legacy will be viewed very very favorably if Harris wins. He had successful legislation with a hostile congress and willingly gave up his nomination for a 2nd term for the good of the country that clearly wanted a younger candidate. He inspires hope in our system that Trump is trying to destroy

Given the media narratives of an impending recession and a doddering old fool aren’t being pushed relentlessly by the press the public can actually see the reality of the moment a bit better.

  13. Shocking. When the media isn’t a 24×7 rage fest about his age and trying to make everything a horse race by framing everything as if it’s a problem for Joe Biden then people realize he isn’t that bad.

I swear the fucking media is so fucking clueless about everything.

People tend to like presidents more once they’re a lame duck and even more after they’re totally done in politics. Once they’re done fucking with your life it’s easier to see them as a person and like them.

John Adam’s said as much, he was always surprised how much people, especially
his rivals, appreciated celebrated him after he left office.

  15. Conservative media (all media) is no longer interested in tearing him down so people don’t hate him anymore? Weird

Easy answers. He did a great job and has a presidency that will long be viewed favorably, but he was also old af and needed to not run again. When he decided not to, you can look to the past accomplishmenta rather than the questionable future of another term. It is not hard.

It’s amazing how displays of self-awareness and humility gain respect and credibility among others.
