  1. Not mentioned in the article but the price is between 7.5p and 8.2p a kWh depending on the project.

    And the government will only pay the difference between that and the wholesale price. For example, if the project has a CfD of 7.5p kWh and the wholesale price is 7p kWh then the government pay the wind farm half a penny per kWh they produce. If, for example, the wholesale price was 8.5p kWh then the wind farm would have to give money to the government at 1p kWh.

    Seems like a good deal for all.

    Why is every government contract an auction? Why not just say “ if you won’t do it, we’ll go to your competitor”

    This is a Country infrastructure project, not a old painting
