Ask the down ballot Republicans how much funding the Trump campaign has passed down and how they feel about it. Ask all of them to explain it.

  2. Wait, she’s not siphoning all the extra money off into her pocket, or using it to pay her legal fees?

    How strange!

This is glorious, it makes me feel so *very* hopeful…

But we all still need to **VOTE**!!! Don’t let good things like this let you get complacent. Show up!

    **Vote.**

I hope she spends in North Carolina. We need all the help we can get down here with our gerrymandered state.

You mean she’s not paying a ton of lawyers to defend herself from a mountain of lawsuits stemming from immoral and legally dubious activity? Oh wait, wrong candidate.

  6. Can someone please explain why raising so much money is necessary to win an election? Like if a candidate were to raise $1bn and spend it all legally, how would it do so? Ads in/on bloody everything?

  7. This is the best tl;dr I could make, [original](https://www.businessinsider.com/kamala-harris-giving-25-million-other-campaigns-2024-9) reduced by 68%. (I’m a bot)

    > Vice President Kamala Harris has raised more than $540 million since she launched her presidential campaign in late July, powered by a wave of new Democratic enthusiasm after President Joe Biden withdrew from the race.

    > The Harris campaign and the Democratic National Committee plan to send $25 million to a series of down-ballot Democratic campaign committees.

    > 10 million to the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee, which works on Senate races; $10 million to the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, which works on House races; $2.5 million to the Democratic Legislative Campaign Committee, which works on state legislative races; $1 million to the Democratic Governors' Association; $1 million to the Democratic Attorneys General Association.

I hope she’ll give it to Debbie Mucarsel-Powell, Colin Allred, Lucas Kunce and Crystal Quade.

God this makes me so happy that I might actually not start getting repulsed by American flags again.

  10. That’s fantastic. Hopefully that’ll help unseat Cancun Cruz and Josh country club Hawley, amongst others.

I don’t want to sound dramatic but this is a massive deal. It also means a few things: 1. They have raised a shit ton of money 2. They have so much money that spending $25 million on down ballot elections won’t hurt their campaign 3. It shows a united democrat party 4. Trump is doing the exact opposite.

Basically if the Dems win in November there’s a chance it could be a massive win not only for the presidency but for the house and senate as well. I’m not counting my chickens before they hatch but this is promising news.

  12. Trump rant incoming about how she’s terrible for not keeping the money for herself or something

  13. I think this is a good sign about where they think the election stands. Their internal polling must look good. It also shows how Harris feels about needing help to govern effectively.

  14. The GOP about find put how much Trump really hurt the overall GOP brand losing lots of locals races because he took all the $$! GOP tired of losing with Trump yet? NO THEY ARE NOT!

That is AWESOME but I have a question. Is this something people just do? Are there not legal issues because of donors protesting “I sent the money to X candidate, and they gave it to Y candidate. I did not agree to give Candidate Y money.”

  16. “At first we didn’t know what to do with all the money. We tried burying it, shredding it, and burning it. But in the end, we decided to just give it all away!”

Great to see and literally the exact opposite of the shit they have going on at the RNC.

I’ll make a secondary argument as to why this is good other than the obvious ones….Down ballot players being funded WILL result in more votes for Kamala.

There’s a portion of voters that feel that national politics has no effect on their life. They won’t come out to vote for President…They come out to vote for local and state candidates. Having those candidates be well funded will drive up turnout and result in votes for Kamala that otherwise would be stay at home voters.

This just shows what a great person she is. The Republicans just pocket all their donations. She truly wants to help everyone.

  19. Helping downballet races is what the party leader does. Trump doesn’t do this because he’s taking all of the money for himeself. The Rs are headed for a massive loss because the republican party is not helping state or local candidates in their races and it’s going to cost them.

  20. Donald Trump does not comprehend this headline. It is a concept that doesn’t not connect synapses in his brain.

  21. “We tried burying it, shredding it, and burning it. But in the end, we had to give it all away.”

  22. WageringPolitico2024 on

Does anyone else see this as exceedingly low? Like — she inherited a war chest of what? ~300M? Shouldn’t about 100M be put into competitive down-ballot races by now?

  23. Tokyo-MontanaExpress on

Now’s the time to donate to Democrats running in purple and even red states like Florida, Texas, et al.

  24. Happy to hear this! I’ve donated both to her campaign as well as a link for the top 24 most competitive house races.

  25. Donna Dump used to say we have so much money blah blah. Now there is no money in his campaig. I am every sure he pocket all that campaign money.

  26. I mean, I’m gonna trust they know what they’re doing. But if she ends up losing by an incredibly slim margin, people are going to point to this as a massive mistake and show of over-confidence.

  27. Idk- I don’t like this. She should be using that money in PA! If people wanted to donate to other races, they would’ve. Am I wrong?
