  1. trump speaking to elon musk on labor, labor rights, and worker compensation showing their disdain for workers:

    >”You walk in, you say, You want to quit? They go on strike, I won’t mention the name of the company, but they go on strike and you say, That’s OK, you’re all gone. You’re all gone. So, every one of you is gone.”

trump and elon hate workers. if trump gets elected he will:

    * **…require worker centers to file financial disclosures with the government.** This could make it harder for worker centers to organize and advocate for workers. [[601]](https://static.project2025.org/2025_MandateForLeadership_FULL.pdf#page=634)
    * **…rescind the persuader rule.** This means that employers will be able to hire consultants to discourage workers from forming a union without having to tell the government about it. [[602]](https://static.project2025.org/2025_MandateForLeadership_FULL.pdf#page=635)
    * **…let bosses decide if workers are employees or contractors.** This means that bosses could call workers contractors even if they are really employees, which would mean they don’t have to give them benefits like health insurance and paid time off. [[591]](https://static.project2025.org/2025_MandateForLeadership_FULL.pdf#page=624)
    * **…make it harder for workers to form unions.** This means that it will be harder for workers to join together to form a union and fight for better pay and working conditions. [[602]](https://static.project2025.org/2025_MandateForLeadership_FULL.pdf#page=635)
    * **…allow states to opt out of federal labor laws.** This means that states could pass laws that make it harder for workers to form a union or make unions weaker. [[605]](https://static.project2025.org/2025_MandateForLeadership_FULL.pdf#page=638)
    * **…get rid of unions for security workers in the government.** This means that security workers in the government, like TSA agents, will no longer have a union to protect them. [[159]](https://static.project2025.org/2025_MandateForLeadership_FULL.pdf#page=192)
    * **…strengthen “management rights” and narrow the scope of issues that are subject to collective bargaining for public sector unions.** This could mean less union influence over working conditions, scheduling, and other workplace matters. [[81]](https://static.project2025.org/2025_MandateForLeadership_FULL.pdf#page=114)
    * **…narrow the definition of activities that are protected from employer retaliation under the National Labor Relations Act.** This could make it riskier for workers to engage in union organizing or other collective action. [[601]](https://static.project2025.org/2025_MandateForLeadership_FULL.pdf#page=634)
    * **…eliminate the Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program, which incentivizes a career in public service.** This would reduce the incentive to go into public service, exacerbate student debt burden for public service workers, reduce diversity and representation in public service and lead to a “brain drain” from the public sector. [[332]](https://static.project2025.org/2025_MandateForLeadership_FULL.pdf#page=365)

[https://www.25and.me/](https://www.25and.me/) is a resource i found out about today, it’s useful to know where donald trump will stand on specific issues after he’s elected. it provides direct links to locations in the actual project 2025 document, “Mandate for Leadership: The Conservative Promise”.

  2. The union movement is excited about politicians who support them. It just so happens that’s Harris and Walz.

Additionally, if unions are valued by the Harris/Walz coalition, we’ll be well-positioned to negotiate during the 2028 General Strike. For the re-elect, they must satisfy us.

Reddit, do you honestly believe the majority of trades (who make up the vast majority of union members) actually supports Harris?

You really need to talk to the guy swinging the hammer some time – I know it’s nice to think that they agree with your politics, but goddamn…spend some time at a job site with a harris shirt

Hint: you don’t know what’s best for other adults. Browbeating them to vote for Harris by insinuating they’re too dumb to understand and support their own interests is already burning bridges…

    Don’t pull another hillary

When it comes to nurses, in addition to fair labor practices and wages, union empowerment helps our patients too!

Thanks largely to unionization, 4 states now have mandated nurse to patient ratios: California, Oregon, Massachusetts, and New York [for critical care](https://www.nysna.org/blog/2023/08/29/universal-12-nurse-patient-ratio-effect-critical-care-patients)

Bills calling for federal mandates on nurse to patient ratios across the US have repeatedly been rejected by Republican lawmakers over the past two decades. Big Hospital corporations, concerned more with profits over patient safety, have also lobbied against adopting nurse-patient ratios.

For an example of how ratios vary by state and hospital unit, 4 stable patients in California will typically share 1 nurse, while 1-2 critically ill patients share 1 nurse. Meanwhile, dangerous ratios of 1:8 and higher(!) are common in states without mandated ratios—with the highest numbers found in anti-union, ‘right to work’ red states.

Please support nurses’ efforts to unionize in your state by voting Harris-Walz! Also, to protect you and your loved ones when hospitalized, ask your state legislators what they are doing to ensure safe staffing levels and nurse-patient ratios.

Labor Day shout-out to my fellow nurses! 🤝

If only the article actually explained why they’re excited…but I guess unions chained to “single party rule” are very good at getting evicted at whatever the DNC tosses their way.
