I think part of the problem is that, just to get there and back safely, required the systems to be pretty much fully optimized. Leaving not a ton of room for reinvention ala aviation dev.

There’s a lot of crazy ideas for reduced launch costs but using a Holloman style rocket sled is pretty far up there.

They’re gonna need a ton of money to make this work. As far as I can tell they’ve only raised $27.5 Million in total.
