The report prepared by MASAK regarding the President of the Paws Holding on to Life Association, Buket Özgünlü, has emerged. According to the report, it was stated that Özgünlü made high money transfers through family members, while the payments for games of chance also drew attention.

Large money transfers draw attention

The MASAK report that emerged stated that Özgünlü made large money transfers through family members. It was also stated that Özgünlü purchased the real estate he acquired during this period through his family and business partners.

The report included the assets, money transfers and commercial activities of people affiliated with the Paws Holding on to Life Association. It was noted that Özgünlü purchased real estate in his mother’s name in 2023.

It was also seen that Özgünlü’s mother, Fatma Özgünlü, was the general secretary of the association, her father Cemal Özgünlü was the treasurer, her sister Tuğçe Soysal was a member of the audit board, and her other sister Demet Kılıç was the vice president. Large amounts of money were transferred between family members, her husband Tuna Boyacı and her sister Tuğçe Soysal’s husband Birkan Soysal, Demet Kılıç’s husband Evren Kılıç, and other relatives. Özgünlü was arrested in July after being detained on the grounds that she had illegally brought sick dogs from a shelter in Şanlıurfa to Ankara.

A fortune of 12 million 414 thousand liras

After the indictment was prepared by the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office, Özgünlü and his family, who were tried while in custody in the case heard at the Ankara 38th Criminal Court of First Instance, were able to make a profit from the donations made to the association. It was revealed that he used 12 million 414 thousand liras of the proceeds for personal enrichment and asset acquisition.
