This is why I always thought things [like this](https://www.nytimes.com/2021/08/30/us/ca-summer-climate-change.html) were downright irresponsible. Pinning the credibility of climate change on something that had a high chance of being wrong is just feeding conspiracy, and this sort of messaging was everywhere

Dipshits use things like this to try and discredit climate change, as if the average temperature of a country that’s 0.04% of the Earth’s surface over a few months is anything to go by.

Yeah, it feels like we only had a couple of weeks actually warm weather

I definitely believe it, this summer was pants. Crazy considering the heatwaves we had in 2022 as well.

Global warming will largely cause the UK to get cooler as the diluting of cold, salty water in the ocean with fresh glacial meltwater from the icecaps will cause the gulf stream to break, which drags warm water from the gulf up to around the UK.
The BBC news site has become a joke. Their articles, typos, clickbait, and “content” have taken a real nosedive over the past year or so.

Most bizarre summer I’ve ever known in my whole life. Didn’t get properly warm until the second week in July and I’ve only had to open windows in the evening to cool the house down maybe 5 or 6 times throughout the whole summer.

Here’s a list of summer averages going back to 1991
Interesting that the hottest years on record in the UK doesn’t often line up with hottest summers. In fact some of them were worse than this year.
Even still this year’s average 14.3 still trumps a lot of years. From what I see It’s at least on par with or better than the majority of years from 1990 to mid-2000s.

I don’t specifically remember 2015 but this is the coldest summer I remember in a while.
2015 must have been quite bad though I got Facebook memories the other day from 2015 when I had a festival coming up and was Tweeting the Pope (you used to be able to link Twitter and Facebook) and telling him his boss is a cunt for making the weather bad on my most important weekend of the year.

I can believe it and it’s been great. More of this plz so I don’t end up being unable to sleep in a 36 degree bedroom at night.

I remember 2015 well. We had our relatives visiting from California for the summer. They had to borrow our jackets and jumpers. They had only packed summer clothes and I dont remember it going over 20’c

Back in July the BBC were happy to put this chart on their pages: [https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/crg7pen1xj7o](https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/crg7pen1xj7o)
