As we recently announced, moderation r/BiH will present a series of changes in the coming period with the aim of making this community of ours better quality and transparent.
The first of these changes will be the introduction of the Community Hub, which you will soon notice at the top r/BiH feed. As most topics have a relatively short lifespan, the Hub will allow us to highlight certain topics and thus extend their life "expiration date".
For example, thanks to the topics highlighted in the Hub, we will be able to watch new seasons of our favorite series together. Instead of opening multiple of the same topics, which quickly get lost in the feed, we will have one master topic that you will access through the Hub, as long as the series is current, and as long as you want to talk about it. In a similar way, we can follow the world and European championships in football, as well as other sports events, such as the Champions League, the Olympics or Formula 1. Ultimately, the Hub should reduce the crowd on the feed, strengthen the sense of community, and allow you to find current topics more easily. For now, we are treating the Hub as a pilot project, which we will evaluate in relation to the aforementioned goals.
Then, once a month, we will publish an overview of the basic economic indicators of Bosnia and Herzegovina, along with a comment and discussion about trends, in order to initiate a discussion about life’s important issues for all of us. The idea is that these discussions also have an educational dimension: they might help us interpret economic data a little better, recognize phenomena like economic populism, or encourage us to invest.
Furthermore, on a monthly basis, we will publish Editor’s Choice, i.e. a selection of the best posts in the community. You will not be rewarded for the best posts, but you will be able to brag to friends, acquaintances, and family that you are influential Redditors.
We invite you again to join the newly opened r/AskBosnia subreddit, which we will activate soon, and you can subscribe to it right now. All service information, from where you can buy something, how to tell your girlfriend that you love her, to the name of the movie that is on the tip of your tongue, you will start there in the future. As regards r/BiHfeel free to initiate discussions from the most diverse domains of life and society: politics, economics, sports, art, philosophy, science…
We want to put the emphasis on quality, so we will remove topics in which not even a minimum of effort has been invested, in order to free up space for topics that make us all visit and love this community of ours. Quality over quantity, let that be the slogan with which we enter these changes.
In the meantime, we are preparing other changes, which we will inform you about when the time comes. But, step by step…
tldr; We will be launching a Community Hub for content transparency and to extend the life of topics. Other news include: economic discussions and the selection of the best topics, while service questions go to r/AskBosniaso join that subbed too.
