Great. It shouldn’t matter if they are open to it. Checks and balances exist for a reason, and the fact the supreme court doesn’t have any of its own is criminal. How can there be ANY trust in the supreme court if they are above the law and available for purchase?

Just sick of these lifetime appointees. Absolutely no accountability.
Let’s move to a court where every 4 years, 2 of them “retire” and 2 new are appointed by the President.

And who will enforce them?

This is just gross. You shouldn’t be open to it. It should be mandatory regardless if you are open to it.

Anyone who holds a position of power and is not open to enforceable ethics codes shouldn’t be in a position of power.

The Executive branch needs to force the Supreme Court to abide by a code of ethics. The court cannot say that is unconstitutional.

That’s great, but at least 2 justices are wiping their asses with the constitution, which is already the highest law on the books.

Of course, because she adheres to ethical behavior by nature

She has to have one of the most frustrating jobs on the planet. Her coworkers suck, can outnumber her on any disagreement, and will stay there for as long as they damn please. She has to go to work every day knowing she’s fighting a losing battle and knowing she’s part of one of, if not THE, worst Supreme Courts in American history.
And Thomas probably says some creepy stuff to her too tbh.

Cool, but really shouldn’t be up to them regardless. The SC needs enforceable oversight that seemingly is not happening within the current framework provided.

People with ethics don’t usually have a problem with a code of ethics.

I bet the conservative justices aren’t so fond of an ethics code, since they’re the ones being unethical.
