Quite an interesting coincidence that the Chocktaw Nation play Stickball which is somewhat similar to hurling. According to the lads “Choctaw stickball, or Ishtaboli, is historically known for its aggressive play. The game was used as a method of mediating social relations, village conflicts and tensions between tribal members as well as other towns or districts”.

It differs in that there aren’t goals but it does have the spirit of being fast, violent and very passionately supported by the parish.

Fair play.
