Game development as an industry in Switzerland often gets a bit looked down upon: either mainstream gamers find Swiss video games boring because we don’t make GTA and Assassin’s Creed here, or politicians think games are bad for kids anyway because hey my son actually plays too much (and adults don’t play games right?)

But: there’s actually a small but thriving scene of Swiss game developers, and thanks to its repeated presence at gamescom (like in this picture) and a handful of key successful projects (The Wandering Village, Farming Simulator and Transport Fever, to name a few examples), Swiss game studios actually have a pretty good reputation on the international market, even though our industry isn’t comparable in size (or funding…) with our neighbors.
