>Speaking with NBC News, the Republican presidential nominee shared that he intended to vote in favor of abortion rights when it comes up on the ballot in Florida, believing that a “six-week [ban] is too short.”
Republicans are still campaigning that the Democratic Party wants to legalize abortion up to the point of birth. What setting a time period like 6-weeks or longer really means is that after a certain point a pregnant women suffering an emergency which could cause a miscarriage will be turned away from medical care. At what point should that happen? This is not a hypothetical. It is happening now.

It’s a shame that Trump said these things on camera. A true shame. Democrats should be putting his words in an ad today. “See! Trump can’t maintain a position that he knows is a loser. The man can’t stick to anything!”

How do your rewind that one? Say he *misspoke*? Or *was only joking*? Seems like an impossible task.
Oh wait, this is what they went with:
>But that wasn’t what his campaign had expected him to say. In a statement to NPR, Trump campaign national press secretary Karoline Leavitt left the political decision ajar, insisting that “President Trump has not yet said how he will vote on the ballot initiative in Florida, he simply reiterated that he believes six weeks is too short.”
So, if he really believes that, then he would vote against it, right? I’m not sure that your attempt at a *he will vote the way you think he should vote* will be believed by either side of your audience.
Still seems like an impossible task.

I watched an old interview with Trump (way before he got into politics) where he said he was “all the way” in favor of abortion rights. I think that’s his real position, likely because he’s saved his own ass a few times by paying for abortions. I think killing Roe v. Wade was an attempt at pandering to conservatives for votes, but this interview was another instance of his handlers failing to get him to stay on script.

This douchebag says whatever he thinks is the ‘right’ answer when he’s asked something. He has no actual position on anything or any real understanding of the issues and just waits for others to clean up the mess he makes later. It’s going to be great watching him get rolled by Harris at the debate when she pushes back on him, something the media won’t do out of fear and greed.

> Back behind the mic, Trump made lengthy remarks about trucks, complained about being the most persecuted American president in history, and whined about Harris's interview with Dana Bash scheduled to air Thursday evening.
> Not dwelling on his major announcement for long, Trump quickly changed subjects to inflation and the so-called "Migrant invasion." When Trump raped that girl and threw money at her, telling her to get an abortion, he’s being very consistent.
SpermicidalLube on
I never understood the “restrictions in instances of rape or incest” line.
Let’s say a woman goes to an abortion clinic, and says she wants an abortion because she was raped.
What then? Police get involved, then they need evidence of the rape? Does she need a full conviction of the rapist before being able to abort the foetus? There’s a very clear deadline to a pregnancy. Would it simply be an honor system, where they trust you no matter what, which would essentially be full legal abortion like we had?
The whole thing is so weird. If you start making a bunch of exceptions, at what point does it become more of a hassle trying to determine if a woman is “truly” allowed or not, versus just trusting that the person is making an informed decision and the reason is none of our business?
If an anti-abortion person thinks abortion is murder, then why would they be okay with those exceptions anyway?
Any anti-abortion exceptionist or absolutist want to chime in?
