Mad idea here, but maybe we should limit the amount of homes that can be ‘block’ bought. I get we need places for rentals and social housing but half of new homes going to the rental market/social housing is insane – how are individuals meant to compete with companies and councils?

  2. >11,876 new units were officially recorded on the PPR as having been sold during the 12 months, DNG says.

    >But when those that were not registered are added, it brings the total to 17,039.

Wasnt there like 35,000 units built last year?

Allowing non passport holders to buy up whatever number of properties they like is fucking reckless. There’s individuals who have never set foot in this country or know anything about us that are buying up properties here

Ban foreigners and people block purchasing properties. Then, the government could step in purchase the properties and resell them. This would be to encourage builders to keep building. Have a lottery buyer system. Plenty of ways to help us, but they couldn’t be holed…

We need more social housing. I don’t mean forever places for those who don’t want to work but basic single and double bedroom units for single people, couples and small families to rent at affordable rates. If they want better, they can move on to somewhere else.

Thatcher sold of swathes of the UK’s social housing and the consequences can be seen here to this day.

It’s funny how Vanguard, Blackrock and their friends decided that it’s better for their shareholders if everybody rents and our government assist to this shit.
