    >The US Army issued a stark rebuke of former President Donald Trump’s presidential campaign over the incident on Monday at Arlington National Cemetery, saying in a statement on Thursday that participants in the ceremony “were made aware of federal laws” regarding political activity at the cemetery, and “abruptly pushed aside” an employee of the cemetery.

    >“Participants in the August 26th ceremony and the subsequent Section 60 visit were made aware of federal laws, Army regulations and DoD policies, which clearly prohibit political activities on cemetery grounds. An ANC employee who attempted to ensure adherence to these rules was abruptly pushed aside,” the Army spokesperson said in the statement on Thursday.

    >The Army spokesperson said while the incident was reported to the police department at Joint Base Myer-Henderson Hall, the employee in question “decided not to press charges” so the Army “considers this matter closed.”

I don’t blame her for not pressing charges, she doesn’t deserve the hatred MAGA already has for her and if she pressed charges they would probably threaten her and her family. It’s just so painfully obvious that Trump will do anything and everything if he thinks it will help him gain more power.

Trying to use the death of soldiers for his own political gain. The same kind of soldiers he called suckers and losers. Disgusting.

Vance’s response to this story? “Harris can go to hell”

No no no, it’s cool, ~~they reached out to the families and asked if they could use them for a photo op~~ some of the families invited him.

    > “This incident was unfortunate, **and it is also unfortunate that the ANC employee and her professionalism has been unfairly attacked.** ANC is a national shrine to the honored dead of the Armed Forces, and its dedicated staff will continue to ensure public ceremonies are conducted with the dignity and respect the nation’s fallen deserve

I just want to point out the Trump campaign BLAMED this person for the whole incident.

  4. So charge them for filming there instead of just talking about how disappointed you are.

  5. > The Army spokesperson said while the incident was reported to the police department at Joint Base Myer-Henderson Hall, the employee in question “decided not to press charges” so the Army “considers this matter closed.”

This is bullshit. The Army should be pressing charges and not the victim. If she pressed charges, her life will be ruined by Trump and his cult.

Can you imagine the absolute nuclear outrage on FOX and “patriot” AM radio if Kamala did this while wearing a tan suit?

  7. Amazing how long the GOP stood on the “We support the troops!” And now are in love with a guy who constantly trashes war heros and the military and famously is a draft dodger.

Just nothing matters to them. Nothing. They hold nothing dear outside of power and the pursuit of it. They will sell any moral value if it will give them power.

    > “We had given our approval for President Trump’s official videographer and photographer to attend the event, ensuring these sacred moments of remembrance were respectfully captured and so we can cherish these memories forever,” the families said.

So grinning like a jackass next to a headstone is how you respectfully honor the memory of someone? Good to know.

And it’s not the family’s place to grant permission. It’s the officials at Arlington National Cemetery. There was no issue with recording the wreath laying event – at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier – the issue arose when they moved to Section 60.

    > But according to a statement from Arlington National Cemetery obtained by CNN, federal law prohibits political campaign or election-related activities within Army National Military Cemeteries.

And clearly as they’ve used the video obtained for that purpose, they have violated federal law.

I feel like the Army rarely makes statements like this. This must have been pretty bad.

  10. Trump dishonored US military who gave their lives in service of their country by calling them “losers & suckers.” He hoped to change that well-deserved reputation w/this stunt.

It totally backfired on him. Yes, he got free publicity, and he paid off the cemetery official to not press charges, but our military knows he willfully ignored the long-standing protocol that any former commander in chief is well aware of.

Trump violated the sanctity of this hallowed ground by using this stunt for his own political gain, and any soldier/veteran worth his salt will NOT forgive him for dishonoring them in this way.

  11. Not a very strong rebuke against Trump specifically. We’re tacitly condoning his behavior when he doesn’t get harder pushback than this. That he actually understands. Trump’s superpower is that to him, “scandal” is just more publicity, which he craves.

Do you know how fucking wrong you have to be for the goddamn U.S army to be like “yeah he fucked up”? Every voter should hear about this.

Trump spokesperson Steven Cheung disputed claims of a physical altercation, but said an unnamed individual decided to "Physically block members of President Trump's team during a very solemn ceremony." Cheung suggested that Trump's team has video to back up the claim.

I look forward to the inevitable fallout on Fox News, surely such a patriotic audience will demand accountability from this.

    ^/s

But really though, is anyone in doubt that if Biden or Kamala did something similar that conservative screeching would not end until November?

  16. You mean to tell me Trump and his campaign lied!!?? No fucking way, never! You mean to tell me they all commit a crime on camera and will likely not face any consequences? No way!?

  17. “the employee in question “decided not to press charges” so the Army “considers this matter closed.”

So I guess federal law doesnt matter….

  18. Yes, but the army is a known bastion of…checks notes…childless cat ladies and woke liberals. So it is clearly anti-Trump

(If the New York Times claims this tomorrow…I will not be surprised)

  19. On fox “news” they are saying it’s all much ado about nothing and that trumpy did nothing wrong. Fox “news” is defending his criminal behavior yet again.

  20. He continually shits on veterans and it baffles me how anybody would support a guy like this.

  21. Naive-Button3320 on

I know a few people laid to rest in Arlington and four who have a monument. Though we never met, I lived two miles from one of those lost at Abbey Gate.

I want to thank the employee who tried to prevent the dishonor and disgrace Trump, and those associated with this incident showed Arlington National Cemetery and those memorialized there.

  22. Yet 75% of the veterans I know, of all ages, worship this fool for some reason. Despite him repeatedly shitting on them – alive or dead.

  23. Remember when we were getting headlines like this almost everyday for four years? Jfc. Why would anyone want this again.

  24. The Trump campaign’s official statement on the incident.

*“The fact is that a private photographer was permitted on the premises and for whatever reason an unnamed individual, clearly suffering from a mental health episode, decided to physically block members of President Trump’s team during a very solemn ceremony,” Cheung said in the statement.*

“Clearly suffering from a mental health episode…”

Can’t these bastards even give a normal statement without going out of their way to behave like assholes?

  25. I really wish the woman would have pressed charges but … I can completely see how she would fear being endlessly harassed at her job.

  26. I’m honestly at the point where if you still support this treasonous loser then fuck right out of my life. Same idiots screaming USA constantly and have zero respect for anything that makes this country sacred. When is this sweaty zit on Hulk Hogans hemorrhoid going to finally just go away? So damn sick of him and his moron followers ruining this country.

  27. Maybe, just maybe the GOP should have impeached him. (The first was bad, the second was obvious) The GOP would still be shitty but it wouldn’t be MAGA, and this guy would be on appeal for his long sentence right now.

  28. Yet another incident that had anyone else done it would be career suicide. Yet for Trump, it’s just another day ending in ‘Y’. I want this election to be over with already. Is it so hard for the press to just stop asking him for quotes and to ignore him like a baby throwing a tantrum?
