I wouldn’t be happy either if my future was a tiny house, no kids, a bike, rationed electricity on the smart meter, UBI credits for vegan food and public transport, no foreign holidays…

They can see those of us in our thirties and don’t like the future they’re seeing. I wouldn’t either.

Edit: in fact, thinking back – I didn’t like the future I saw as a teenager myself and honestly now I’m here in the future, it’s a lot worse than I expected.

  3. As a young person myself. This is what the Tories have achieved.

A hopeless and lost generation. I know there are problems worldwide but just look at the statistics. This is what happens when you give up on governing.

  4. People talk about economic factors etc and that is probably true. But it is not an absolute requirement that you need to be unhappy if you are poor.

I think there are also cultural factors as well. I feel we are always putting each other down and judging each other as a society. You can be judged on literally anything in this country, your accent, your clothes, your gender, your car, house.

It is crazy how much we enjoy minding other people’s business for them.

  5. Given how much the young are ignored by successive governments pandering to the elderly at their expense, is it any surprise.

  6. God so many sad losers on here.

Being an adult is amazing, especially if you are capable of getting a career that pays minimum 40k plus, leading to higher wages in the future.

Do that plus workout and have a good sex/social life and life is good, it’s great actually.

Unlike the weirdos here, I don’t personally feel sad or depressed because……… Tories bad – I actually focus on my own life.

The biggest change I’ve seen in my life (I’m almost 30) is the rise of the terminally online class, all of which have anxiety and depression and have very deep and ridiculous ideas which they share online.

  7. The only thing that gives me hope is bitcoin.

For me the problem is with money. Governments inflate it away, making things harder and harder and harder. Then it’s more taxes, and we just get used to it. Prices go up, and we just get used to it. Rent takes more of our pay, and we just get used to it.

Bitcoin, in theory, stores value, and is free from government control. It kinda feels like a lifeboat.
