Russia bans entry to 92 US citizens, including journalists The Russian foreign ministry says it will ban entry to Russia for 92 US citizens, including journalists and the heads of military firms.

The ministry made the announcement in a statement on Wednesday. The document says the measure was imposed in response to the administration of US President Joe Biden instigating anti-Russian sentiment by imposing sanctions on many Russian lawmakers and businesspeople.

The list of banned journalists includes 14 staff members from the Wall Street Journal, five from the New York Times and four from the Washington Post.

The ministry describes these media outlets as “leading liberal-globalist publications involved in the production and dissemination of ‘fakes’ about Russia and the Russian armed forces.”

A spokesperson for the Wall Street Journal told NHK that the administration of Russian President Vladimir Putin is “farcically consistent in its all-out assault on free press and truth.” The spokesperson added, “This laughable list of targets is no exception.”
