  1. A suspended sentence, but he did get 120 hours of community service, 20 [“rehabilitation activity days”](https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/the-rehabilitation-activity-requirement-in-probation/rar-guidance) and has to pay £239 in court costs/surcharges.

He threw two objects – a “coffee cup” along with an “unknown object”. Neither of the objects hit Farage but he did plead guilty.

It may sound harsh for what may well have been a pair of paper cups, but in light of concerns surrounding the spread of politically-motivated violence, I believe this is an appropriate punishment.

Lol. Political terrorism is fine. Smearing bacon on a mosque is 2 years in prison. Yes it’s political terrorism. It’s ultimately an action that tries to silence and intimidate a political candidate into not running. I can appreciate you’ll find it funny and not give a shit because it’s Farage, but I expect you to be smart enough to realise such behaviour is evil and unacceptable. It’s a candidate you hate today ‘who can handle it’ it’s a candidate you love tomorrow that somebody else hates. We can’t ever stand for this. To see this man not get prison time is genuinely disgusting and undermines our democracy.

This has nothing to do with this but why does Nigel farrage have his own little segment on gb news. Is gb news independent or is it technically part of the state since Nigel is an mp

You can throw things at Farage but not policemen. I wonder if he would have been jailed if it was a Labour politician

  5. I despise farage, but this kind of behaviour is not acceptable. This sounds to be the right punishment

Sombody got over 2 years for shouting at a police dog last week to put this into perspective.

Should have thrown it at a non-celebrity, there would have been no further action taken regardless of evidence.

He’s lucky. If he’d tweeted those cups he’d have gotten 3 years.

  9. Now that’s what they should call two tier policing.
Lock him up and free the nonces.
This is proof society is failing and that crime has gotten out of control when farage is the one being targeted.

Meanwhile my friend got knocked out by a man (guess which type) because she told him to fuck off after he attempted to pull her maxi dress down and the police weren’t interested. The police said it was a 50/50 altercation and both sides were aggressors.

  11. Luckily he only assaulted a politician. If he’d have tweeted that people should assault politicians, that would have received prison time.

These kinds of attacks need a hail sentence. Like him or loathe him farage is standing for office democratically and shouldn’t be subject to violent intimidation from anti democratic forces. It may be a milkshake today but it could be more tomorrow.

Good job he didn’t post a meme on Facebook or he might really be in trouble.
