  1. I don’t understand how so many redditors equate good news with an apathy towards voting.

“Harris also holds substantial advantages among Black voters (73%), Hispanic voters (51%), and white college-educated voters (57%)”

See this is the stuff that makes me nervous. We haven’t seen a democrat poll this poorly amongst these demographics in literal decades.

  3. This is the best tl;dr I could make, [original](https://www.newsweek.com/kamala-harris-overtakes-donald-trump-new-poll-1945154) reduced by 78%. (I’m a bot)

    > In a survey released Tuesday, Harris was found to be 4 points ahead of former President Donald Trump among U.S. voters, according to the poll from PolCom Lab and Mainstreet Research USA. Out of the 929 registered voters surveyed between August 23 and 25, 47 percent backed Harris, while 43 percent of respondents said they supported Trump for president.

    > In a separate poll conducted at the end of July, Harris and Trump were locked in a tie among U.S. voters in a head-to-head match-up at 46 percent.

    > In a poll released Monday by Angus Reid Global, Harris was found to have a 5-point lead over Trump among registered voters.

  4. that’s amazing! i’ll make sure to do my part and vote. if you haven’t registered yet, it’s a good time to do it, registration deadlines are coming up. checking if your registration is up to date, is probably also a good idea.

    [vote.gov/register](http://vote.gov/register)

you can check your state’s voter registration deadline from the website below if you haven’t registered yet:

  5. https://www.fau.edu/newsdesk/articles/july302024pollrelease Was looking for what their previous poll had them at. Looks like the last time they polled from July 26 to 27, they were tied at 46%. So in the last month, it’s been a 4 point swing with Kamala gaining 1 point and Trump losing 3.

Incremental progress is the name of the game! We’re not going to see a huge swing over night but if these trends continue up to the election, that’s what’s critical.

Hillary held 6 point lead against Trump in national poll. She won in number of votes but not in electoral votes.

We should work double to convince our family and friends to vote against Trumpism or craziness in America.

  7. SuddenlySilva on

It’s not enough to win. We need to win BY A LOT. There are now SEVEN battelground states. We need to get to 270 with no drama. Clear decisive victories in enough places with enough certainty that all the fake electors, officials refusing to certify, vague bits of video etc will have no affect.

  8. tramplemestilsken on

Hillary was leading in nearly every major poll by 4-8 points and had a 78% chance of winning according to five thirty eight on Election Day. Doesn’t mean shit, go vote.

  9. Don’t care. It comes down to a few swing states. If we don’t get out the vote in those states, then being up 7, 10, even 15% in a national poll is meaningless.

  10. “why anyone vote trump”

    “i don’t care, vote”

Now that that’s out of the way, the point is the trend. Going from 5 down to 4 up is huge.

  11. Im sure in a few days Newsweek will have another headline about how she is behind in multiple polls.  Somehow it always manages to be both

  12. Oh yeah? What about his digital trading cards showing his with his bitcoins?

  13. At this point in the race she may have overtaken him by several laps. Still, vote, don’t get overconfident until Harris is seated in the oval office.

I gotta get this off my chest but I bet there’s a Newsweek article with the opposite headline. But if Kamala is ahead go out and vote because polls really don’t count until we go out to vote. Also I have still been seeing more Trump signs and people waving and wearing Trump merch all around me.

  15. Who keeps making these polls? Every day since Biden dropped out, I’ve seen posts on here saying, “Harris has overtaken Trump in a new poll.” What is going on? Is it a really close election, and they both overtake each other daily? According to the frequency of these posts, Harris should have overtaken Trump about three weeks ago and not looked back. Is it all just propaganda? Should I just not trust the internet?😂

  16. My incredibly scientific findings of going on a road trip through WI and MI this week and counting political signs in yards:

Harris is winning WI. MI is going for Trump. Lets hope the science is wrong in MI.

  17. The only think I care about is my pencil overtaking the circle labelled Kamala Harris on the ballot sheet

  18. Disastrous-Resident5 on

Electoral college is a scam. Popular vote should be the only one that matters. Battleground state votes matter so much more than other states which may be why there is an issue with voter turnout.

I’m really disappointed in the lack of impact the criminal conviction has had in his polling
