Power substation south of the Seym River in Glushkovo, Kursk Oblast, Russia was damaged by FPV drone of the “Requiem group”, Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Published on August 26, 2024
The destruction of the substation in Glushkovo, Kursk Oblast, is of paramount importance to the Ukrainian army in its effort to take over the entire southern part of the Glushkovsky district south of the Seym River. Since the Ukrainian strategy has been to attack the improvised bridges and pontoons, making it extremely difficult for Russian logistics to supply the area and hoping that they will drain the resources they can get through in the daily fighting, the destruction of a power substation will further overload Russian logistics in the district, which will now need to transport more generators and fuel to the area to keep its surveillance cameras and its drone operators constantly charging their batteries, not to mention other communications equipment. Without a functioning substation and no prospect of immediate repair, Russian logistics, which has been struggling to deliver water, food and ammunition without permanent bridges, will now have to struggle to deliver larger quantities of fuel
