  1. > A source with knowledge of the incident said the cemetery official tried to prevent Trump staffers from filming and photographing in a section where recent U.S. casualties are buried. The source said Arlington officials had made clear that only cemetery staff members are authorized to take photographs or film in the area, known as Section 60.
    >
    > When the cemetery official tried to prevent Trump campaign staff from entering Section 60, **campaign staff verbally abused and pushed the official** aside, according to the source.

    >In a statement to NPR, Steven Cheung, the Trump campaign spokesman, strongly rejected the notion of a physical altercation, adding: “We are prepared to release footage if such defamatory claims are made.

    >”The fact is that a private photographer was permitted on the premises and for whatever reason an unnamed individual, clearly suffering from a mental health episode, decided to physically block members of President Trump’s team during a very solemn ceremony,” Cheung said in the statement.

    >The Trump campaign declined to make that footage immediately available.

    >In a statement to NPR, Arlington National Cemetery said it “can confirm there was an incident, and a report was filed.”

    >“Federal law prohibits political campaign or election-related activities within Army National Military Cemeteries, to include photographers, content creators or any other persons attending for purposes, or in direct support of a partisan political candidate’s campaign,” according to the statement [from the ANC].

Yet another law Trump has broken. Add it to the pile.

  3. >“Federal law prohibits political campaign or election-related activities within Army National Military Cemeteries, to include photographers, content creators or any other persons attending for purposes, or in direct support of a partisan political candidate’s campaign,” according to the statement. “Arlington National Cemetery reinforced and widely shared this law and its prohibitions with all participants.”

It’s weird that a law like this is even necessary, and totally unsurprising that Trump managed to break it. Normal candidates have the decency not to campaign in a *cemetery* of all places, and if they didn’t, you’d think they would at least abide by the law, but Trump has neither decency nor respect for the law.

  4. Regardless of any religious views or lack thereof one might have, a cemetery should always be a sacred place. They literally just asked you not to film in ONE SPOT.

  5. “unnamed individual, clearly suffering from a mental health episode”

    It’s ok to say Trump.

They have no respect for the troops and continue to prove it over and over… all they do is exploit them.

What a fucking disgusting move. Don’t drag the fallen into your circus. As always, “only the best people.”**/s**

  8. Did they have to plow some headstones out of the way of a shot of 20-ft neon TRUMP letters with him fist pumping at just the right underlit angle?

What an all-around lame attempt at correcting years of derogatory statements about veterans.

  10. They shoved their way into an area off limits to political theatre. The Trump campaign is a disgrace.

  11. I’m not religious nor am I particularly patriotic these days, but when I went to Arlington, it felt like a genuinely sacred place. He intruded on hallowed ground and did a fucking thumbs up and smile over a gravestone.

He never fails to find novel ways to make me disgusted.

  12. Trying to use Arlington, one of the most sacred places in the United States, and its dead heroes as campaign fodder is despicable and beyond contempt. Trump clearly shows once again that he sees the military, and those who have made the ultimate sacrifice on behalf of this nation, as mere pawns in his election campaign. He never served and he looks down on those who did, and those who made that ultimate sacrifice, as “losers and suckers”. Unbelievable. But that is Trump.

Everybody knows he doesn’t give a shit about veterans, and he cares less about KIA veterans.

  14. He does not give a shit about veterans or people who sacrificed for this country – he only wanted a photo-op

  15. >”The fact is that a private photographer was permitted on the premises and for whatever reason an unnamed individual, clearly suffering from a mental health episode, decided to physically block members of President Trump’s team during a very solemn ceremony,” Cheung said in the statement.

    What the actual fuck?

  16. This is sickening. You cannot believe a word Steve Cheung says. Force him to show the tape. He won’t.

Trump and his band terrorists are monsters. Seriously doesn’t get lower than this.

He is a living shit pile of national disgrace and has no business at Arlington NC. It degrades the lives of those who dealt with more than his bone spurs. Let’s go Harris and Walz!

  19. I am not religious and have a lot of disagreements with how the US has participated in unnecessary conflicts. That being said, when I went to Arlington, it was one of the most emotional experiences of my life. The overwhelming sense of loss created a pressure I can’t put into words. I can’t even imagine someone showing any sort of disrespect in that place. For lack of a better term, it’s sacred ground.

His nitwits are lucky they didn’t get shot. It weird that Trump and his minions needed to play publicity stunt at Arlington national cemetery. These treasonous draft invaders not be allowed within a mile of that cemetery. It’s a sacred place something Trump and his people know nothing about.

Oh fuck this guy. Some poor National Cemetery employee-most of whom are veterans-is doing his job and he gets verbally abused, shoved, and then called crazy to a national audience.

  22. In a normal election this would kill someone’s political career. Just another in a long line of national embarrassments

  23. Using the ceremony for political purposes, what a scumbag. The Afghanistan deal was made by trump, but somehow this was Biden/ Harris’ fault and they keep dwelling on it because it’s all they got. It’s the new “Benghazi, Benghazi”! When was the last time that POS visited Arlington? Or how about mourning the million Americans who died due to Covid due to that asshat feeding them disinformation?
