  1. Trump should just stick with timeless classics like “turkey in the straw.” Nobody will be upset then.

that’s the way to do it. Getting into a lawsuit with Trump is like fighting with a pig, all you do is get dirty and Trump enjoys it.

  3. Really says something when 9 times out of 10 whenever trump and GOP use someone’s music at a rally/in a promo the usual response the artists give in return is more or less “fuck off with that.”

  4. “Die Fahne Hoch” is royalty free and more suitable for their insidious, yet whacked, purposes.

  5. Benny Hill should approve the use of the theme song for all Trump rallies. Royalty free.

That beats a C&D that’s pretty much impossible to enforce.

Artists should publicly state they’ll donate to the opposition every time one of their songs gets used without permission.

  7. At this rate, all Trump will be left with are Kid Rock songs and whatever is public domain. I say go with [Greensleeves](https://youtu.be/c4g3_LmdCno). Just fully embrace the weird and inappropriate at this point like he did with My Heart Will Go On, wtf.

  8. Is there not some kid rock song Trump can use. I’m pretty sure that’s about the only musician okay with him

  9. This is a good strategy. There should be a commitment that a bunch of artist could sign saying they’ll donate X amount of dollars to a liberal campaign every time one of their songs is used by Trump or cronies. That will either stop him or give more to his opponents

For anyone who doesn’t know, Dave’s own father is/was a Republican politician and Dave was very vocal about not supporting him. For decades now.

So many of Trump’s dumb moves could be avoided by a 30 second Google search.

But he’s never worked a day in his life so, heaven forbid he start now, lmao.

  11. Big name artists should just pledge to donate $100k **whenever** drump uses one of their songs.

  12. Foo Fighters seemed a little more generic in the 90s when there were a million good guitar based rock bands. Now they sound pretty fresh in a retro way. Enjoy them much more now and Grohl being a really cool guy certainly helps.

  13. considering its dave grohl’s song about his admiration for ordinary people, trump should really stick to You’re so vain by carly simon.

  14. What is the thinking of the Trump staff when they choose a song they clearly would not be allowed to use? Is it really “so sue me”?

  15. So, the answer here is to wave your finger at the culprit and say, “don’t do that” then use your own money (from royalties) to send to the Harris team?
Sorry, but I guess I am still trying to figure out how this punishes Trumps team for using their song without permission? And what’s to stop them from doing it again? And again?

He can always play the new JD Vance, I’m a Never Trump Guy jam that just dropped.

  17. Do more than that Dave. Free concert in a swing state. Get some high profile acts to join.

Trump: “You thinkin’ what I’m thinkin’ partner?”

    Vance: “Aim for the lawsuits?”

    **fist bump**

    **cue My Hero**

  19. Should give her permission to play one of their songs too. You would be able to hear the rustling of jimmies from high orbit.
