    >The prime minister has overturned the decision made in April by his predecessor, Rishi Sunak, to appoint Gwyn Jenkins, then the vice-chief of the armed forces, to the most senior security position in the government, officials have said.

  3. Maybe Sunak should have not appointed him just weeks before calling a general election he knew he would lose…

Good? I don’t understand why there’s any expectation that Starmer be bound to follow through on job offers made by Fishi Rishi and the Corrupt Tories (band name?). Maybe Starmer wants someone he can trust, and not someone who he thinks has loyalties to the Tory Party who’ll leak things to the Tory client press? Or maybe he wants the chance to interview this man himself, and not rely on Fishi Rishi’s incredibly poor, Britain-last judgement?

    Hilarious quote:

    > One official said: “This looks like another part of the grab for power by Keir Starmer and [his chief of staff] Sue Gray. The process to appoint Jenkins was run with full transparency, and there is no good reason to do it all over again.”

A power grab…by the Prime Minister? Over a role which is supposed to be advising that same Prime Minister??? A role which is essential to national security, and which was filled by the disloyal PM Sunak? Incredible mental gymnastics.

Wait until Starmer starts booting Tory stooges off government contracts. The Guardian will quote anonymous sources calling it a power grab…
