While I’m happy for her success so far, elections shouldn’t cost this much. Socialize the whole thing. Make the campaign last a few months tops. Make TV stations and media host a few commercials, not every break. Mandate debates. Don’t make them spend so much

I am not from the U.S. Why do U.S candidates need to be funded with so much money? What is the money used for? Is it all for campaigning? Are only very wealthy people eligible for candidacy because of this? When she becomes POTUS, where does that money go?
This method of election seems to be rather specific to the U.S. hence my lack of knowledge about this.

I know this won’t be received well in the blue team echo chamber but the majority of that will be ultra wealthy donors and they aren’t doing it because they think it’s the right thing to do. They’ll expect, and get, something for it
