    They could do with a semi-permanent ban in Leeds, when I lived there it was a nightly occurrence for people to randomly set off rockets for no reason.

    I remember having to contact the police at one point, only to be told that it didn’t matter where the rocket exploded as long as they were launching it from their property, even if it was going off a few feet above our rooftops.

    I’ll always remember when I went to uni and the students over from Northern Ireland being astounded that you could just walk into a supermarket and buy a box of explosives. I’d never really considered it to be particularly odd before that.

    Good. My dog remembers the exact location of fireworks going off for the past 2 years and starts shaking when she approaches the location again.

    I can only imagine how terrified other animals get.

    Let’s just put an end to this shitty “tradition”.
