Royal Mail also claims that International Standard post gets anywhere in the world within 7 working days, in my experience it’s more like 12 working days, and commonly more.

If it’s anything like places I’ve worked around here it’s a lack of investment or incentive for the workers.
Any posties here give their two cents?

I don’t bother sending parcels first class any more. My informal study over the past year is that whether I send it first class, second class, tracked 24, tracked 48 or anything else makes no difference as to how long it takes to get there and indeed very little difference to whether any sort of tracking happens at all.

Honestly 79% is way, way higher than I thought it would be from personal experience. The postie doesn’t even come round here every day so one working day delivery is just a comical idea.

Not surprised. I work in a solicitors post room. We get at least 30 letters a day that aren’t meant for us. Frequency is a whole box full. During the last general election, we received 2 boxes full of postal votes.
There have been days where the postman hasn’t turned up. So we’re just sat there waiting.we phone and get no explanation. Then we learn that the usual postman was on annual leave and no-one was put in his place to cover him.

I don’t think I’ve ever received a first class package on time. The majority of the time it’s because the postie gives up at the first obstacle to delivering it and will just send the stupid “your package was undeliverable” notification then drive off.
I swear you need to be stood outside with a giant sign waiting for them to arrive or they just assume your not home so don’t even bother to get out the van.

Considering how much stuff i post second class this actually suprises mo. 9/10 times its there the next day or the day after. Saves a fortune

As least someone is getting rich from this. Won’t be around much longer.

Feels like anything from Royal Mail takes at least a week these days, regardless of what “Class” it’s meant to be.

For me next day delivery is 3 days at its fastest and 10 at the longest.
Currently I’ve ordered something on Tuesday next day delivery. Now it’s Friday still not here.
