  1. That was a hell of a speech.  He was more brutal towards Trump than Democrats really can get away with, so much so that it had me thinking “is he going to be safe?”

I’m so sick of Democrats giving Republicans a platform. I can’t believe there’s a single Democrat/Independent that gives a shit about these people. Give time to your people so they can promote themselves and Democratic issues.

Someone should tell him that it’s a lot easier to breathe if you don’t have your nose up the Cheeto’s ass.

As a political moderate I’ve supported GOP candidates in the past like Romney and McCain (until the Palin disaster). I never supported Trump and never will. But his infestation of the GOP has pushed me so far away from that party that I’ll never look back.

I agree with everything Kinzinger said tonight. Keep in mind, this man voted with Trump 90 percent of the time and has since seen the error of his ways.

  5. The GOP as the idiots if they don’t see the star power he has. He’s gonna be pres someday if they decide to get out of his way.

he’s not wrong. any soul that the gop once had is long since dead and buried. trump let the party’s mask slip, let people embrace the most extreme, reactionary parts of the platform out in the open and amplified rather than just veiled behind “fiscal conservatism”. as a party, you can’t claw your way back from that.

I hope this will wake up other Republicans, undecided voters and maybe, but hopefully, some MAGA fans.

  8. That’s one of the best and most accurate ways to put it. When he said that, I said wow!

It was a good speech. He didn’t pretend to be anything he wasn’t. And everything he said about Trump and the Republican Party of today is unarguably true.

  10. That was a powerful speech. “To my fellow Republicans, Democrats are just as patriotic as we are…”
“Our policy differences pale in comparison to our bedrock principles”

He’s in the big tent and there’s plenty more room.

I checked Fox News and of course… they muted the speech and had their panel talking about the rumored guest and some other random shit

  12. Since Trump isn’t even eligible to vote should he technically be classified as having a party affiliation?

The GOP sold its soul to the devil a very long time ago and opened a pathway for Trump and MAGA.

Kinzinger would win me over if he advocated traditional, disgusted Republicans to vote for Harris and Democratic down-ballot.

He could also suggest that others may feel more comfortable in staying home and denying their vote for MAGA in both houses.

They had a chance to save themselves and possibly the country. There were decent men and women amongst them, such as Kinzinger and Huntsman. Instead they chose they chose Trump and they worship him, they built a golden idol of the man. Leave them in their filth with their false idol. We need to elect Kamala and of course take no revenge as they would have done,we move ahead. Leave them alone and behind to wallow in the filth and perversion their ancient, mentally ill candidate left for them.

The soul of the GOP was corrupt before Trump, that is precisely why it was so easy for him to co-opt it.

  16. I hope Republicans watch it.
Voting for kamala does not make you a Democrat but it does make you a patriot.
This election is not about policy, it’s about common American principles that we are all supposed to share regardless of party, and ensure those principles are in the white house.

Don’t agree on policy? Just vote for kamala for president, and vote republican the rest of the ballot! That’s your american right, a right that our ancestors have had to fight to get.
And if in 4 years, you’re unconvinced and the gop finally moves on from Trump and brings a candidate that believes in those American principles like a John McCain or GW Bush, then be my guest and vote for them! But if Donald Trump wins the presidency, he will not step down in 4 years. He has said he’d be dictator on day 1 and that’s probably the only true words he’s ever spoken.

But really tho, if you actually want your life to get better, voting Democrat sure as hell looks like the only way to at least getting people in charge who will actually fight for us and give their best and not try to undermine us and serve only powerful interests…

  17. Let’s not start sucking each other dicks here. It looks god as a headline but he was forcing his way through it. Like he was looking toward his political future instead of trying to convince the other side. If I was a republican or an undecided voter, all I would have seen was someone desperate to consolidate their future.

  18. The guy lost his seat, many of his family members and likely more than a few friends. All for doing the right thing. Deep respect.

It’s almost as if the scores of republicans in 2014-2016 who said they would be screwed if he became the nominee were right all along….

Too bad Kinzinger didn’t run for re-election. It would be nice to have Republicans that are willing to call out Trump/MAGA in office. His positions seem to be more in line with moderate Republicans (if that’s even a thing anymore) and he was actually willing to work across the aisle.

Sad he sold out for a cushy job at CNN, but I can’t say I blame him.

  21. If he loses, what’s it going to take for Trump to finally melt away? Will he still post? Will he still attempt to give anti-whatever speeches? Will he really go to jail where he will stay until the end?
