    > The Democratic National Convention garnered better ratings than its Republican counterpart for the third night in a row, according to data from industry research firm Nielsen.
    >
    > About 20.1 million people tuned in to watch the Democrats’ conference on Wednesday, Nielsen confirmed—the third night in a row the broadcast reached more than 20 million viewers.
    >
    > Wednesday’s speakers included Treasury Secretary Pete Buttigieg, former President Bill Clinton, and an acceptance speech for the vice presidential nomination from Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz.

  2. And the crowd didn’t leave during her speech either. The RNC was just sad who would watch that shit? I’d rather watch Beaches.

  3. Trump tomorrow: Dems lied and spread fake rumors about Beyoncé attending just to boost their numbers.

For the first time, I might actually agree with him. Even if dems are not actually the ones spreading the rumors (who knows who the “sources” were), it’s not like they denied it at any point.

  4. On the final night, there were 47 billion viewers, but 46.8 billion of those were the balloons they dropped from the ceiling.

  5. Fan-fucking-tastic

Knowing how much Trump cares about ratings this is going to drive him nuts.

He’s going to be so angry he’ll continue to say stupid and insufferable things that will just continue to drive away supporters

And remember, these are the TV ratings. Most people would be watching online.

Surprising considering how talented Republicans are at putting on a circus.

A bit confused because the article states that tonight DNC got 20.1M viewers, however they later state that the RNC got 25.3M? 28 at its peak during Trump’s address? So are the dems beating the ratings or not?

  9. The article talks about low numbers of young people watching. I have a kid in that age bracket. Didn’t watch any of the convention. But I know who they are voting for. The women, LGBTQ+ friendly party.

  10. Mid thirties here and this is the first time I’ve ever watched a DNC (or any convention). My friend and I watched all four nights of it! It seemed like overall they did a fantastic job of mixing policy, humor, entertainment and calls to action, especially impressive since I’m sure they had a LOT of retooling to do after Biden dropped out on short notice. We’re fired up, and when we fight, we win!

  11. Trump will lose what’s left of his mind tomorrow…when the ratings for tonight destroy his rambling nonsense at the rnc.

Of course the Dem convention will get more viewers, but that’s not so much a Dem success as a Repub failure. 🍑🍑 has been pushing the same hot buttons for a decade now, no need to watch more of that. And his other problem now is, he’s retreated so far into conspiracy theories and troll-farm garbage that no one can understand what the heck he’s talking about anymore. Why watch it? If you’re not already a hardcore MAGA, you’d just turn it off.

  13. *Nielsen ratings, which measures how many folks have successfully aimed their rabbit ears covered in foil to pick up on the broadcast, is reporting fewer youngsters tuning in this year.*

Bro, NO ONE IS WATCHING THIS SHIT ON BROADCAST TV. I am not even a “youngster” and I have watched every single minute of the convention on YouTube. I promise you many more young people were watching this than they are capturing (same with RNC).

  14. Honestly kinda surprised that the RNC got close to $20M views per day and only 10-20% fewer views than the much more energetic and entertaining DNC.

  15. The MSM fail to grasp the fact that younger people watch stuff through social media and live streams.

Republicans are too busy making money and providing for themselves to watch TV.

Kamala’s speech was perfection, I didn’t think someone could top the Obama’s as an orator but my god she actually did it.
