  1. psst nobody tell trump. he’d have an aneurysm and totally ruin the fun of us utterly destroying him once and for all on nov 5th.

  2. Democrats have been the larger more popular party for a while now. They usually win the popular vote. The system is biased towards republicans. I don’t see how this is democracy.

DNC Night 2: The first Second Gentleman, the Obamas and a pretty cool, Roll Call.

By comparison, the RNC’s night 2 seemed like a death dirge.

  4. >However, Nielsen’s numbers also show that Democrats are still struggling to attract young voters. Only 939,000 viewers between the ages of 18-34 watched the broadcast on Tuesday—down from 941,000 in 2020 and just over 2 million in 2016.

    We’re all watching streams.

  5. That’s what happens when you have speakers who are not only popular, but can form coherent sentences.

Uh, I’m not sure using Nielsen rating are a good way to capture youth viewing habits.

  7. Maybe just me, but seems like a lot more republicans hate watching the DNC than did dems watch the RNC.

    • Check your registration here as well. Some states have purged voter rolls and you may need to register again.
    • Some states require you to register 30 days before the election you wish to vote in.
    • If you have questions check with your local election officials.

  9. Waiting for Trump to rant on Truth Social that the viewers were all AI generated. Makes total sense!

  10. I’m watching clips that come out the next day lolol. I can’t sit through everything

  11. I literally have it on right now to boost ratings and make Donnie cry 😌 I’ve never watched the DNC before but trump tears are worth the electricity

I am watching Day 3. Bill Clinton, Kaling, Winfrey, Pelosi, Shapiro, Bowman, Keenan etc etc etc. Let us compare today’s rating as well. I have never seen so much unity and hope from Democrats.

Who has cable anymore? Early 40s and have had streaming for the past 5 years.

  14. I’ve watched it on YouTube so they haven’t counted me. I know my parents have been watching every night on YouTube as well

  15. Half my friends are watching on instagram live. There’s 125k people watching the dnc stream on YouTube right now. Nielsen ratings aren’t capturing hardly any 18-24 viewers, but my 40 yr old friend said she got home from work tonight and her 14 yr old daughter was diligently watching the dnc.

  16. that’s gotta be eating him up alive. i ain’t watching (hate political speeches) but i love the numbers.

  17. Since 2004, when I was 17, I’ve watched every DNC and RNC. Good to see what my team has on deck, but also what the other team’s bringing. I like seeing who the potential up and comers are for both parties.

But I didn’t watch this year’s RNC. Why would I? To see the GOP publicly masturbate Trump more? To see Trump vocally vomit nonsense? To see such luminaries like the MyPillow guy? What could I possibly learn about “Republican policies” that are non-existent? Though I suppose Project 2025 would be that, but I’m sure the GOP wants to keep that on the DL.

Unless JD Vance was eyefucking a couch, it was pointless to watch. Even then, I don’t want to see that. And I barely even read any news coverage of it. Who the fuck doesn’t know why Trump is running and what he’s supposedly offering to the American people? Spoiler: so he doesn’t go to jail and nothing.

Absolutely pointless to watch the RNC. At least with the DNC, the electorate is seeing new faces and learning about them. Learning about what Dems have to offer.

Younger people prefer streaming services. Everything is viewable online these days on apps. For this reason, Neilson has been a relic of the past for years. I almost exclusively stream content these days. It’s just easier when you can view something anytime you want.

  19. There is like only one person who really cares about national convention ratings.

So we should make sure that is widely known that the DNC crushed the RNC ratings bigly

  20. DaveMcElfatrick on

I think Dems don’t care what the Republicans are offering, but Republicans love being angry at Democrats and will watch.

Bad news for the GOP because the young folks are pretty much in the bag. It’s the older folks, the ones who traditionally are more likely to vote republican, that are most likely to use television.

  22. Not a surprise. Everyone knows exactly what Trump and his cronies will say at any given moment. They’re all broken records and have been for years.
