    >>”It will last for three years or until your passport expires.”

Not really a huge cost then considering it can last for several years.

  2. Ah watch it all kick off on social media moaning about this. Its what happens when you leave the EU

    Also

“Travellers must also provide the reason for their journey (holiday, business, visiting family, etc), specify the Schengen Area country they will first arrive in, and provide the address of their first night’s stay – which will pose a problem for tourists who like to make plans as they go along.”

The last bit isnt true. If you travel around you put your 1st hotel in you will be staying in. They won’t care after that

  3. Another Brexit benefit. woop woop! As I sit here in Sweden on my £2.39 a day roaming fee. thanks EE.

€7 for three years is not bad at all. However am sure people will still moan about it.

I think having to hand over your employment details, facial scans, and fingerprints should be more of an issue than just a small fee for the privilege

How dare the EU treat us like a third country after elwe left because we wanted to be treated like a third country??
And how dare the EU apply a similar, but cheaper, scheme than the US?

    >The EES system will require travellers to provide biometric information, such as fingerprints and facial scans, at the border.

You would have thought this would be the focus of the headline rather than the small €7 fee.

Is this being done for any actual purpose or is it just a tit-for-tat move from the EU against the US?

At work, I have this guy that keeps asking me why I don’t have British citizenship, as I’ve been living in this country for 15 years. I said that I don’t want to lose my EU passport (as I’m not allowed to have dual citizenship, cos my EU country rules are dumb), which means I would need to pay visa and everything if I want to travel around Europe (which I do a lot, cos family all around the continent).

He says it’s not that bad, it’s fine, and I keep telling him it won’t be fine. And now I read this, yeah, I’m not surprised. Anyone with a brain cell knew it’s coming, but then again, I work with people that don’t have any to begin with.

Does this mean UK Citizens are allowed to stay in the EU as long as the visa waiver is valid?

Why don’t our government start charging EU citizens to come here too? Just like the truck drivers,  they use our roads free yet ours have to pay over there

  12. I live in Switzerland atm, would I have to have this when leaving to drive home?

We generally don’t get checked anywhere, up until Eurotunnel. I’d hate to fuck myself over

That pales in comparison to the extra fees for travelling in the summer by UK airlines
