its never been the same since they re-did it, climbing in and out of all the engines was the magic of the place

I have been there twice earlier this year. Most steam train rides are from Thirlmere to Buxton. During the steam festival there will be train rides to just before Picton. You just hope to get a good seat on the trains as you get allocated seats. The museum itself is great.
