  1. Landlord probably pretending these ‘studios’ are bedrooms in their house so they can do it tax free.

Here listen, when we start reading about folks evicting 90 odd year olds for a few extra quid that’s when I lost all faith. Some people need to truly take a good hard look at themselves in the mirror, fucking gouging people, who by no fault of their own have ended up in a market completely and utterly fucked by government policy.

  3. I lived in a bedsit in the North Strand for 2 years. Going back 15 odd year ago. Was 400pm back then and that was expensive. Much like this photo. But I loved it. I only used it to sleep because I was out most of the day. Walked in and out of town. Live in an apt now and it took me ages to get used to the space.

Does no one pull these people to the side and say “what the fuck are you doing? Is this acceptable”

Or just simply stop associating with them because they think it’s acceptable to treat another human being in a modern Western country like this.

Well youve attempted to have your own place to yourself so you reap what you sow. Get aload of this guy living on his own cheek.

I have a 200sqm house, in a Forrest, 300 meters from a Trainline, and the sea another 100 meters from that.

My mortgage is less than the rent for this place.

Fuck, and I mean, fuck, the greedy landlord.

Are they supposed to lean against the front door to watch that telly?

Where does their stuff go? Anyone who owns more than one change of clothes is going to have so little storage, their shit will just be everywhere, it’ll be an actual deathtrap if there’s a fire.

I love how daft lets you know how many schools there are in the area, as if you could rent that box with a child.

Christ this is so depressing. In the noughties we used to talk about “the crying chair” all the shitty overpriced “studios” had, the old fashioned upholstered armchair that had clearly come from a clear out in a grandparent’s house. The one you could sit in and cry about being gouged to live in a shitty room. And now the “studios” are literally five times the price and there isn’t even room for the crying chair.
