Inciting rioters in Britain was a test run for Elon Musk. Just see what he plans for America

  1. Elon should have kept his opinions to himself, but claiming what he said has any influence on what happened is very far-fetched. Home grown ringleaders, particularly Tommy Robinson and Nigel Farage, have much, much more influence in the UK.

Elon is probably preparing for another insurrection right now. Won’t surprise anyone

  3. I am fully convinced Ding Dong Musk is in supervillain mode without underhanded charm or grace.

  4. Reminds me of that Sherlock episode where the villain was a cross between Sherlock, Rupert Murdoch and Sven Goran Ericsson.

He stated he used Britain as a Petri dish to test his societal manipulation tactics on before using them “on real countries”.

I could both see Elon watching that episode and thinking that was something to aspire to be like and also see him thinking he’s mega smart and analytical for trying something in one English-speaking country in prep for doing it on another.

    From the article:

In Britain, the canary has sung. This summer we have witnessed something new and unprecedented. The billionaire owner of a tech platform publicly confronting an elected leader and using his platform to undermine his authority and incite violence. Britain’s 2024 summer riots were Elon Musk’s trial balloon.

He got away with it. And if you’re not terrified by both the extraordinary supranational power of that and the potential consequences, you should be. If Musk chooses to “predict” a civil war in the States, what will that look like? If he chooses to contest an election result? If he decides that democracy is over-rated? This isn’t sci-fi. It’s literally three months away.

But what Musk – the new self-appointed Lord of Misrule – has done is to rip off the mask. He’s shown that you don’t even have to pretend to care. In Musk’s world, trust is mistrust and safety is censorship. His goal is chaos. And it’s coming.

I used to have respect for Elon Musk just because he apparently has Asperger’s. Now he’s just a stupid billionaire who apparently doesn’t care about political stability

  7. – whatever Musk does will be dealt with as all social media is a major propaganda outlet and needs to have some major lawsuits and cost when it puts out bullshit

  8. He hates her trans daughter so much he’s willing to burn the free world. What a weird psychopath.

Joke’s on him. Here in America? We don’t do that shit! Because most of us are scared of losing our jobs because that means we’ll lose health insurance! So, no riots for us! Ha HA, this bullshit dystopia backfired on the awful billionaires for once!

  10. Wait, Musk was behind the rioting in the UK??? I was wondering what the source was that sparked it to begin with.

  11. i imagine it will be something like the Texas Boat Parade for trump.

A bunch of dudes with AR-15’s hanging off of a broken cybertruck.

lol no, he is not gonna do anything. I know he’s done some horrible stuff, but come on guys, this is too far in my opinion.

Happy to be proven wrong though, I’m not a us politics expert

  13. We need an updated version of the Fairness Doctrine (original was killed by the Reagan FCC, and Reagan’s veto of Congress trying to codify it into law).

I expect Trump to find a way to steal the election if he can’t win it above board.

As a back up plan, I expect him to try to incite protest and violence via the likes of X along with Musk and other far right figures

I hope I’ve just become cynical as fuck and none of that happens.

Based on his success with Trump last week I say let him keep trying. That was campaign gold for Harris

Still plenty of ‘influencers’ claiming the riots in the UK are a major and growing concern _after they’ve ended_ , a lot quoting Musk.

I’ll never forgive Reddit for glazing this dude back in the day even when everyone was pointing out the warning signs back then.
