IMO, the slander on Harris is the key issue. Misremembering the helicopter incident itself is not important. It cannot be left in the public’s imagination that Brown ever said anything negative about Harris, especially to Trump.
As a side note: Brown often said of himself that he has no ex-girlfriends. Meaning he is on good terms with everyone he has ever dated. The guy is very … um … he’s hit on people I know. 😀 But as far as I know, he’s been a gentleman and when they declined, he politely moved on.
